All about Gags! (90 minute workshop)

Lew Rubens is a true gag fetishist and has been practicing the ins and outs of gagging for many years. (See what we did there?) If you too think silence is not only golden but sexy, fun and sometimes practical - join Lew in this fun, hands-on class.

What you’ll learn

  • Different types of gags, including cleave gags, ballgags, ring gags, mouth stuffing and tape gags, rope gags and more.
  • Tips for inserting, removing and adjusting your gag of choice to ensure a safe and fun experience.

  • Maintaining communication when you’ve eliminated words as an option
  • Choking pitfalls and how avoid them!


What to bring to class
If you have gags, bring them. If not, don’t worry. Lew has plenty of samples. There will be an opportunity to practice on your partner(s), if you like.

Who should attend
Anyone; from the curious-about gags to the veteran enthusiast. Spectators are welcome to register for this workshop.

Tree Faeries Tie (2 hour workshop)

When Lew created this incredibly aesthetically pleasing, ground-breaking, rule-breaking tie, he didn't think it would work... right up to the moment of lift! Not only did it work with with eye-pleasing results, but the dynamic nature of it adds to its beauty and mystique. The person in suspension can move their arms and legs to simulate graceful flight! Learning this tie is simultaneously simple and complex. 

What you’ll learn

  • The mechanics of this 2-part tie; the ground tie and how to rig the uplines
  • Ways to enhance your bottom’s comfort in this already comfy tie​
  • The value of having a block and tackle in your rope kit (it’s needed for this tie and more useful than you may think for so many others)


What to bring

  • About 400’ of rope. Synthetic works best but anything you have will do. (the Lewbari Large Riggers Rope Kit is perfect for this)
  • A block and tackle
  • One of the following suspension equipment set ups:
    • 2 standard suspension rings (ok)
    • 1 suspension ring and 6-8 caribeeners (better)
    • A multipoint suspension ring like The Revolver™ (best)


Who should attend
This is not a beginning suspension class so please be confident in your rigging abilities. If you’re not sure whether you’d be a good candidate for this class, don’t hesitate to ask. Spectators are welcome to register as well.

The Classics (90 minute workshop)

Learn why these classic ties have stood the test of time as favorite rope bondage positions. Step up your skills in this intermediate "hands on" rope bondage class.


What you’ll learn

  • From the most basic spread-eagle positions
  • to the Hogtie
  • Frog tie
  • Ball tie and many more

What to bring


Who should attend
This is not a workshop for beginners. You should be confident tying single and double limb ties, and it will be most helpful if you are familiar with Lew’s versions (which are taught in Rope Bondage Basics.) Spectators are welcome to register as well.

Nuthin’ but Hogties! (90 minute workshop)

The hogtie may be the most classic bondage tie of all time. There are literally hundreds of variations of this helpless, and oh-so-sexy, tie. In this hands-on class we will delve more deeply into the hog tie and explore a variety of styles and variations. You’ll come away with a whole new view of the fun you can have with this one tie.

What you’ll learn

  • How to adjust your hogties to suit your partner’s flexibility
  • Ways to play with your hogties
  • Turning your hogties into predicaments


What to bring
As much rope as you want. A single 30’ length will work but the equivalent of a Lewbari Beginner Kit would be perfect. If you want to tie along with Lew, you’ll want to bring a partner.

Who should attend
Everyone is welcome – from total beginners to seasoned riggers. Spectators are welcome to register for this workshop.

Beyond Basic Rope Bondage (90 minute workshop)

Want to learn shortcuts that make tying easier? Could you benefit from learning some handling tips and tricks that will make your bondage more aesthetically pleasing with crisp clean lines? Then this class is for you. You'll learn some techniques that even many advanced riggers don't know! This class is especially valuable for folks who want to photograph their finished products. 


What you’ll learn

  • Various elbow ties (including stretching exercises to increase your bottom’s flexibility)
  • A quick and easy hair tie that won’t pull off
  • A highly versatile, classic bowline
  • Dual color ties and more!

What to bring

  • As much rope as you want but at least the equivalent of a Lewbari Begginner Kit
  • A partner is helpful but not necessary.


Who should attend
This is not a workshop for beginners. You should be confident tying single and double limb ties, and it will be most helpful if you are familiar with Lew’s versions (which are taught in Rope Bondage Basics.) Spectators are welcome to register as well.

Rope Bondage  Basics (90 minute workshop)

This workshop is perfect for folks who are just beginning to explore their interest in rope bondage or for those interested emulating the distinctive Lew Rubens style. This is a hands-on, high energy workshop that starts from the ground up; a fun and informative instruction on the joy of rope bondage. 


What you’ll learn

  • Different types of rope; their characteristics and how to decide what’s right for you
  • Safety concerns and how to avoid injury
  • Rope handling techniques for smooth and even results


What to bring

  • As much rope as you want but at least the equivalent of a Lewbari Begginner Kit
  • A partner is helpful but not necessary.


Who should attend
Anybody with an interest in rope bondage. If you plan to tie, a partner is helpful but not necessary and spectators are also welcome to register.

Self Puppeteering Suspension (90 minute workshop)

A dynamic suspension where the riggee can completely change their position on their own! Sting 'e up and and enjoy the show as your bottom does aerial splits, self-inverts, and otherwise twists, turns and contorts themsleves, in what some have described as a comfy bondage workout session! Of course, interaction can be fun too! Movement in this tie feels counter-intuitive at first but once you get the hang of it, it's surprisingly simple and doesn't require much strength at all!

What you’ll learn

  • An arms out torso harness
  • The gunslinger hip harness
  • An innovative way to connect the two for fluid movement and transition
  • Important tips for ensuring that the tie remains safe, even during transitions


What to bring

  • At least 250” of rope in various lengths. Synthetic works best but you can use what you have (the Lewbari Riggers Rope Kit is perfect.)
  • One of the following suspension equipment set ups
    • A standard suspension ring (ok)
    • 1 suspension ring and 3 caribeeners (better)
    • A multipoint suspension ring like The Revolver™(best)

Plastic Wrap Suspensions (2 hour workshop)
NO BONDAGE EXPERIENCE NECESSARY!

When you think of suspension, you probably automatically think of rope.  Rope is excellent, for sure. But there is more than one way to get your gravity-defying kink on! Pallet wrap bondage is a versatile option to rope suspension, with the potential for super-fluffy-floaty comfort to “are-you-effin’-kiddin’-me?” discomfort ...and everything in between!

With these techniques anyone can learn to create plastic spider webs in the woods or hang someone from your favorite suspension frame in cool new ways.

What you’ll learn

  • Several plastic wrap suspension styles will be demonstrated/taught and you’ll have the opportunity to do one of them yourself.


What to bring

  • at least 2 rolls of 6” wide, 1000’ pallet wrap, like this 


Who should attend

Everyone is welcome; from total beginners to seasoned riggers and spectators are welcome to register as well.

Bondage for Sex (90 minute workshop)

If variety is the spice of life, bondage is the BBQ sauce of the bedroom! Here's a chance to access the endless creativity of the mind of Lew Rubens as he takes you well beyond the classic spread-eagle position that most people associate with bondage for sex. This is a hands-on, fun-filled workshop that you are sure to put to good use within hours!

  • The Ohoo rope (stirs the curiosity, doesn't it!)
  • bondage missionary position
  • bondage as foreplay and many other ideas designed to stimulate and titillate


What to bring

  • As much rope as you want but at least the equivalent of a Lewbari Begginner Kit
  • A partner is helpful but not necessary.


Who should attend
Beginner through advance rope bondage enthusiasts. However, since we do not discuss safety concerns in this workshop, Rope Bondage Basics is a recommended prerequisite. Spectators are welcome to register as well.
